VETERANKA Launches Educational Series on Respectful and Inclusive Communication in the Military
The VETERANKA Movement, with the support of the British Embassy in Ukraine, presents a new educational series on the Diia.Education platform – “Gender-Sensitive and Non-Discriminatory Communication in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
This is a practical course focused on mutual respect, trust, effective communication, and understanding one’s rights within the military environment. Over the course of 14 episodes, experts explore how to build strong team dynamics, maintain morale, de-escalate conflict, and protect oneself in difficult situations — regardless of rank, experience, or gender.
The series aims to help service members better navigate their rights, respond constructively to challenging situations, and communicate more effectively during the realities of service. It is designed primarily for military personnel, unit commanders, military psychologists, and anyone seeking to strengthen healthy communication in the Armed Forces.
“This series is a response to a clear demand from within the military. Respect, support, and healthy communication directly impact unit cohesion, trust among personnel, and the overall operational effectiveness of our forces. It’s also about knowing your rights — and knowing how to defend them,”
— says Kateryna Pryimak, Head of the VETERANKA Movement.
Featured speakers include:
- Oleksandra Matviichuk – Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Head of the Center for Civil Liberties
- Kateryna Halushka – veteran and volunteer combat medic
- Vitalii Lytvyn – Hero of Ukraine, serviceman, Major of the National Guard of Ukraine
- Anastasiia Melnychenko – Head of NGO “Studena”, anti-bullying expert, activist, and PhD researcher
- Iryna Mykorak – Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, founder of ARMWOMENNOW

The course is free to access on the Diia.Education platform and available anytime on desktop, tablet, or mobile.
