Arekhta Andriana Movement Leader (Malysh)
Andriana Arekhta stands as a keystone leader within the Women Veterans Movement, showcasing a commendable blend of academic achievement and valorous service. A 2009 alumna of the Kyiv National Linguistic University, Andriana obtained her degree in English translation, further enriching her educational portfolio with a Master's degree in "Public Administration and Management" from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Faculty of Law, in 2020.
Her commitment to national service and advocacy for veterans' rights is exemplified through her active participation in the Revolution of Dignity between 2013 and 2014. Demonstrating unparalleled dedication, she volunteered in Eastern Ukraine in May 2014, integrating into the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the Aidar battalion. There, she served valiantly in an assault group as a junior sergeant, directly engaging in combat operations across the Luhansk region.
Her distinguished contributions, both on the battlefield and within the veteran community, underscore her pivotal role in advancing the cause of women veterans and their representation within society.
Awards and Honors:
People's Hero of Ukraine and recipient of the Order "For Courage," Third Grade. After returning, she was featured in the "Invisible Battalion" advocacy campaign and documentary about women's participation in the russian-Ukrainian war.
In 2018, she began forming the Women Veterans Movement and has represented Ukrainian veterans at UN headquarters, NATO, and the Ukraine Reform Conference in Toronto.
In 2020, she became a UN National Consultant on gender equality at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
